A drip from the spout is different from a leak at the base. Water around the handle is different from water coming from the pull-out hose area. Once the source is clear, the repair becomes much easier to judge. In some cases, a simple cartridge change solves the problem. In other cases, the faucet has reached the point where replacing the full unit is the better option.
